Bio-Barry Jacobs

The Principal Consultant of the firm is Barry Jacobs, Ph.D.

His executive and organizational consultation experience includes more than twenty-five years’ experience consulting with professional service firms, small and mid-size businesses, and Fortune 100 businesses.  These engagements have included both focused approaches such as leadership candidate assessment, executive coaching, work group development, and conflict resolution; as well as more comprehensive testing/ surveys and change strategies.  Before entering the fields of organization and management development, he gained a broad-based understanding of strategic problems and possibilities with more than fifteen years business experience. At TRW (now Northrop) he managed the international tax group and served as member of the foreign exchange working committee; and prior to that was a tax and accounting professional in a regional CPA firm.  He has also served as acting COO for a regional CPA firm and (visiting) Professor in area MBA programs.

He received his doctorate in Organizational Behavior, and masters’ degrees in Economics and in Organization Development and Analysis at the Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western Reserve University.  While pursuing his Ph.D. he concurrently trained in clinical psychology.  His undergraduate degree was in business administration and he is a non-practicing CPA.

This broad-based background helps him to bring a strategic business perspective to the complex human issues of leadership and interpersonal strategies, understanding business cultures, and the management of change—particularly in professional and executive work groups, complex organizations and closely-held businesses.
